MC8: Advancing Materials by Chemical Design

Topics: Materials Science, Keywords: see below

Date: /2/3/4/5/ July 2007, London, United Kingdom, Europe

Web Site, Contact: conferences@rsc.org

Official Information:

Symposia will be held across the traditional core areas of Materials Chemistry, namely, Soft Matter, Solid State Materials, Nanomaterials and Biomaterials. Interdisciplinary topics will also be featured.

The themes will combine some elements based around materials types (e.g. molecular materials, ceramics, nanostructured compounds), with others focused towards applications of materials (communications, energy storage, catalysis, etc). Some sessions will have a strong emphasis on technique development, to study functional materials synthesis and operation, under realistic operating process conditions. In designing our themed sessions the focus has been on aspects of innovative design and creation or optimisation of materials, for particular functional goals.
