The field of olefin metathesis is of growing interest to both the academic and business communities. An International Symposium on Olefin Metathesis takes place every two years with the previous location being Poznan Poland in 2005. The topics covered at ISOM XVII will include recent developments in catalyst synthesis and applications as well as mechanistic and theoretical investigation. Significant contributions will be made from industry leaders providing insight into the current state of commercial development of olefin metathesis. Over 70 talks are planned and numerous posters being presented. Confirmation of attendance has already been received from Nobel Prize Laureates Robert H. Grubbs & Richard R. Schrock.
