Advances in organometallic chemistry have had major impacts on diverse areas of science in both academic and industrial settings. Today organometallic chemistry plays a pivotal role in the discovery of new technologies and materials, from novel polymers and nanomaterials to more efficient syntheses of pharmaceuticals and industrial feedstocks. Bearing witness to the importance of this field, the 2005 and 2001 Nobel Prizes in Chemistry were awarded for achievements in organometallic chemistry. This conference will explore fundamental and applied issues in the field.
