Official Information:
The Fifth International Conference on Oils & Fuels for Sustainable Development AUZO 2008 will bring together representatives from academia, industry, and authorities to exchange latest advances in knowledge and technological progress, and to share experience in economical and environmental aspects of oils and fuels. Environmentally friendly processing of fossil fuels and wise use of renewable resources is essential for a sustainable Europe and world. Better understanding of the impact of oils and fuels on environment significantly contributes to the development and implementation of innovative technologies. Representatives from small and medium size enterprises are particularly welcome to participate because of the possibility of implementation of presented new technologies, and the opportunity of negotiating joint proposals within the EU 7th Framework Program.
The Conference will be structured around the following core topics:
1. BioFuels.
2. Lubricants.
3. Oil Sands and Oil Shale.
4. Petroleum and Methane.
5. SynFuels.
Within these topics the following horizontal aspects will be
addressed as feasible:
1. Analytical procedures and characterization.
2. Environmental distribution and impact.
3. Surface phenomena, wetting, nanotechnology.
4. Technology, treatment, utilization.
Additionally, three special sessions will be organized:
A. Capturing CO2 emissions.
B. Management and legal issues.
C. Oil spills and environmental accidents.
