BioNanoTox lies at the interface of a variety of disciplines ranging from biology to chemistry, Toxicology, computational sciences, mathematics, engineering, nanotechnology and biotechnology. Although undeniably multidisciplinary, this nascent field of research has had the tendency to be locked within the narrow remnants of each of its constitutive disciplines.

The specific overarching aim of the BioNanoTox Conference is thus to generate new vigorous interactions between the disciplines that contribute to BioNanoTox. We expect this to be an important international and multi-disciplinary scientific and educational event. The 2008 year's program will highlight the BioNanoTox unique vantage point of looking into interdisciplinary foundation of fundamental and translational research.

This could have an enormous positive impact on our societies, with its effects being felt across a range of activities such as the provision of healthcare, environmental protection and remediation to the construction of smarter, more ubiquitous bio-integrated computing systems, biocompatible nanomaterials, and the like.

Another aspect of our meeting is to help bring the new knowledge that is derived from these disciplines together, and as a key point of health, extend longetivity, and assist in improving environment and agriculture. The objective of these talks is to provide a solid understanding of new developments in BioNanoTox and their applications.

Ample time will be allotted for oral, as well as poster presentations. BioNanoTox is a business convention, playing the role of a genuine catalyst for technology transfer projects. It also encourages and supports inter-company and business-academic laboratory research collaboration. An exhibit show will round out the program during which attendees can visit vendors who will be displaying the latest products, instruments and equipment, computer software, as well as scientific publications.
