Official Information:
Biotechnology is being applied more and more for the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) as well as for the discovery and synthesis of new lead compounds. In order to ensure high process performances and adequate product purity and quality control in APIs production, particularly when carried out by bio-processes, regulatory authorities should be in contact with research, industrial production and quality assurance.
The EDQM, in collaboration with the University of Pavia and the Italian Biocatalysis Center (IBIOCAT), is organising an event to allow participants to exchange information and expertise. This meeting aims to provide an overview on the more recent improvements in the field of biotech R&D as well as information on the most important rules and technical aspects that should be considered for quality control in the bio-production of APIs.
