Quantum Chemistry beyond the Arctic Circle
Promoting female excellence in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry
Topics: Molecular Modeling, Physical Chemistry, Keywords: Theoretical and Computational Chemistry
Date: /23/24/25/26/ June 2010, Sommarøy-Tromsø, Norway, Europe

Some Information:
Along with offering established as well as young quantum chemists the opportunity to meet and discuss science in a friendly and informal atmosphere, this workshop is meant as an occasion to highlight female excellence in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, partly by bringing mainly female speakers on the agenda - thus reversing established trends at international conferences - and partly by stimulating an open discussion on gender issues and related "political" measures among its participants.
We invite applications from all interested individuals regardless of gender or ethnicity. Even if our goal is to have more women than men as speakers, men are welcome and we encourage them to register!
There will be a total of 9 keynote lectures given by invited speakers (35 min + 5 min discussion) and 18 contributed lectures given by selected speakers (20 min + 5 min discussion), plus 8 short presentations (10+5 min) given by early stage researchers. We expect to have about 60 participants in total, thus early registration is strongly recommended.
