Official Information:
We are pleased to announce that the 7th International Workshop on Silicon-based Polymers will be held in Lodz, Poland between the 27th and 30th of June 2010. This follows the series of highly successful events which took place in Ishikawa (Japan), Canterbury (UK), Troy (USA), Honolulu (Hawaii), Montpellier (France) and Pusan (Korea). Workshops on Silicon-containing Polymers are designed to highlight advanced research and technological innovations by bringing together scientists and engineers with common interests in macromolecular organosilicon materials. The program will cover a wide selection of topics in synthesis and application of linear, branched and dendritic slicon-based polymers and organically modified silicates, as well as polysilanes, polycarbosilanes and polysilazanes. This is an area of current industrial importance. Materials such as silsesquioxanes, nanocomposites and other hybrid materials are currently under intensive study and development. Such products are attracting increasing attention as NLO, electronic and ionic systems , liquid crystals, bio-materials, as well as for use as precursors to silicon-based ceramics.
