Official Information:
3rd Georgian Bay International Conference on Bioinorganic Chemistry (CanBIC 3) takes place from 31st May to 4th June 2011 in the Stockey Centre, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada P2A 1S3The organizing committee is Martin J. Stillman (University of Western Ontario, Ontario, Canada), chair, Nagao Kobayashi (Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan), and C. Frank Shaw III (Illinois State University, USA).
The CanBIC conferences aim to bring together both specialists and young scientists in a number of limited areas of research that concern the roles and functions of metals in biological systems. Approximately 80 invited speakers and 60 posters make for a very full and rewarding conference. The conference takes place in the newly built Stockey Centre, which is a magnificent venue on the Canadian Shield, situated in Parry Sound on the edge of Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. We invite contributions for poster presentation. The organizers strongly encourage participation by post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students by discounting the registration fees. The registration includes coffee breaks and lunches, together with receptions on two evenings, two short classical music recitals and a boat cruise – please see the web site. The CanBIC Coach is used for transport from Toronto’s Pearson airport (YYZ) and back. Music at CanBIC is back. A special day to explore the flora and geology of Georgian Bay has been added for 4th June, 2011. The abstract deadline is 16th March, 2011. Registration, abstract submission and hotel booking is all on-line at canbic.ca. E-mail us at canbic@uwo.ca with questions.
