Official Information:

The third edition of the COST-ESF High-level Research Conference series on Systems Chemistry will take place in October 2011 in Crete/Greece.

Systems Chemistry research is directed at understanding the organizational principles of complex chemical and biological systems. Scientists from different disciplines, such as Supramolecular Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Chemical Biology and Theoretical Biology try together to shine light on emergent properties in chemical systems, with the hope to also unravel different scenarios relevant to the origin of living systems. The meeting in Crete/Greece will focus on studies that can conceptually bridge the prebiotic chemistry with engineering and analysis of molecular networks, and those that may lead all the way to the development of artificial cells.

The conference will include lectures by invited high-level speakers, short talks by young and early stage researchers, poster sessions and open discussion periods as well as a forward look panel discussion about future developments.

If you wish to attend a conference, you must submit an online application form before 15 June 2011. Some grants are available for young and early stage researchers..
