Nanotechnology Conferences

Nanotechnology refers to techniques to prepare and manipulate matter on the scale of individual atoms. Specifically, one definition limits it to the manipulation of matter with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers. This includes both the specific preparation of such materials, their characterization in terms of size, structure, and homogeneity, and the study of their properties and applications. The molecule that symbolizes nanotechnology more than any other is buckminsterfullerene, or “buckyballs”, and related structures such as nanotubes. Nanotechnology techniques enable the preparation of nanomaterials that can be uniquely different than related materials produced in bulk by conventional methods on a much large scale. Nanotechnology has applications in electronics, medicine, and foodstuffs, and the pace of discovery of new applications is quite rapid.
